During its short life of 8-10 weeks each Ant takes part in a highly complex social organization in the Ant colony. Female workers and male soldiers attend the queen, and some Ants are known to enslave other Ant species. The individual reaches 2.5-mm (1 in.) in length with a big head, elongated thorax and sloping abdomen. Ants have two sets of jaws, the outer for digging and carrying and inner for chewing. Adaptable in different climates, Ants thrive in dry, hot ones. Of the different varieties of Ant, some have a painful sting, some nest, others are nomadic, but all share the pack nature that makes this small creature so insidious.
Strategic Value Edit
The Ant’s digging ability allows it to burrow through the ground, hidden to most enemy creatures. It’s got a tough exoskeleton that helps it withstand damage, and its vicious bite is an effective close combat attack.
